Sold at auction in Hong Kong in August 2011

The collection is made up of 10 exhibition frames of 16 pages each. It consistently won gold medals in US shows and in International shows in Lima, Peru and Brazil before it was sold in Hong Kong.

There are three covers listed in the “To Japan” index that were used later then 1900 and were not in the original exhibit, but they are exceptionally interesting.

1901 – Providence, RI to Yokohama (postage due)

1903-1904 : San Francisco to Nagasaki to Yokohama to Washington, DC to San Francisco

1941, November 27 – Montclair, NJ to Tokyo (never left US “Service Suspended” because of start of WWII.)
